“Bonney and Richard Schaub fell in love with Florence when they came to visit the city where Dante wrote his Divine Comedy and where Roberto Assagioli developed Psychosynthesis. What they offer here are the fruits of their studies in these two areas and of their more than 35 years of experience as therapists in the humanistic field - a harmonious blend of beauty with pearls of wisdom, through the interplay of artistic images and poetic expressions, a true journey of the Soul and a precious opportunity for practicing creative meditation as in the best traditions of psychosynthesis. A beautiful continuation and development of the previous book of the Schaubs, Dante’s Path.”
“I am delighted to recommend this book to all seekers of living and exploring the essence of our journey. This is a meditation book with magnificent images and evocative prose. It poetically asks the question about life and its purpose, opening up opportunities for profound realizations and invitations. It holds out the hope for each of us to turn our eyes toward self and others and not turn away from the rich challenges of the journey. Do not miss the gift of experiencing this book: your being deserves it.”
“The teachings in this book have the transformative power to heal the planet – breath by reflective breath. It will join the Schaubs’ other books as required reading.”
“Provocative and inspiring …The Florentine Promise illuminates the path of self discovery for the conscious mind through the magnificent use of poetry and visual art. A must read for any seeker on the path towards transformation.”
“This is a beautiful meditation book for discerning a deeper spiritual experience and understanding of who each of us has the potential to be. An exquisite guidebook for those who may need to explore their spirituality outside of specific religious institutions; and for those of us who find our spiritual nourishment within religious communities, I strongly urge you to take this journey.….At first, you may long for more “familiar” words. Be a patient “Seeker” and you will find your home!”
"The Florentine Promise is a book of meditations and reflections inspired by poet Dante Alighieri’s epic poem The Divine Comedy. The Schaubs invite us into a vision of ourselves as enlightened as we are guided by the masculine and feminine wisdom images of Virgil and Beatrice. We discover that our true nature is love and that the source of our suffering arises from the misguided use of this intrinsic love. This book is beautiful and simply inspiring. It offers up to us the jewels that are imbedded within the Divine Comedy in a personally accessible manner which does not diminish its vast wisdom."
This book takes its readers, its travelers, if you will, on a journey towards wholeness. The visuals alone are stunning invitations to expanded consciousness. The conversations between seeker and guides speaks to all who journey. This book will be a gift to many and a much needed change of pace from the vast array of books that are chock full of good ideas. In this small delight, we are moved by imagery, intuition and conversation. Our conscious and unconscious mind travel together.
This is a beautiful piece of work, like a “manual for living life” that we all wish we had been given at birth. It makes the mystical wisdom of Dante highly accessible.
"Through images of Dante’s city and insights from Dante’s journey, this book of reflections guides us to our inner wisdom, peace and love, opening us to the fullness of lfe."
